What to Do if There is Damage to Your Motorhome

A Helpful Guide to Address Vehicle Damage While on Hire

Damage to your motorhome can happen unexpectedly, but knowing the right steps to take ensures your safety and helps us support you effectively. Follow this guide to manage the situation:

Stay Calm and Take Action

  1. Contact Us Immediately

    • Contact us as soon as possible for further guidance and assistance. Just click the link and choose the 'Accident' option.
  1. Secure Loose Parts

    • If any parts have detached from the motorhome, collect them and bring them back with you. These will help us assess and repair the damage.
  2. Assess the Safety of Driving

    • Before continuing your journey, check whether the motorhome is safe to drive with the damage.
    • If you feel it’s unsafe, notify us, and we’ll do our best to assist you in finding a caravan medic. Please note that availability may depend on the time, date, and location.
  3. Protect Damaged Areas

    • If the motorhome’s panelling is damaged (e.g., cracked), try to cover it. Preventing water from entering the panelling is crucial to avoid further harm.

Document the Damage

  1. Take Photographs

    • Capture clear photos of the damaged area.
    • Sending these photos allows us to order necessary replacement parts ahead of your return.
  2. Complete the Accident Form

    • Fill out the accident form with as much detail as possible. Even if the damage didn’t involve a third party, submitting this form is essential.
    • Just click the link and choose the 'Accident' option.

Continue Your Holiday

  • If you feel confident the damage won’t compromise your safety or experience, enjoy the rest of your holiday as planned.
  • We’ll handle the remaining steps when you return the motorhome to our office.

For Collisions with Third Parties

If the damage occurred due to a collision with another vehicle or party, please refer to our ‘What to Do if You Have an Accident’ article in the Accident Section for detailed instructions.
