Emptying Your Grey Water Tank

Your guide to efficiently and responsibly draining your campervan or motorhome's waste water.

The grey water tank in your campervan or motorhome collects waste water from sinks and showers. Monitoring the tank's fullness is easy via your control panel.

Where to Empty Your Grey Water Tank

If you’re at a campsite, use their designated grey water drainage facilities—this is always the recommended option.
If campsite facilities aren’t available, locate a storm drain and carefully position your vehicle so that the waste water drains directly into the storm drain.

Locating the Grey Water Valve

Each vehicle's grey water valve placement varies, but a sticker labelled "Grey Water Valve" on or above the skirting on the outside of your vehicle will help you locate it.

How to Empty the Tank

The mechanisms to operate the grey water valve differ depending on your vehicle model. Below are examples with instructions for each handle type:

  • Handle 1: Pull the handle toward you to open, and push it away from you to close. Note that the movement is limited to just a few inches.

  • Handle 2: Retrieve the handle from the glovebox. Insert it into the square bar to the right of the pipe and turn anticlockwise to open and clockwise to close.

  • Handle 3: Inside the toilet cassette housing, you’ll find a red handle to open and close the valve. Turn clockwise to open and anticlockwise to close. The waste water pipe is located below the toilet cassette.

  • Handle 4: Twist the red tap clockwise to open and anticlockwise to close.

By following these steps, you’ll ensure that your grey water tank is emptied responsibly and efficiently during your travels.
