What to Do If You Get a Flat Tyre

If you find yourself with a flat tyre, don’t worry! You can often use a tyre repair kit for small punctures, like those caused by nails or similar objects. Follow these steps to get back on the road:

  1. Stop Safely First, ensure you're in a safe location away from traffic before starting any repairs.

  2. Assess the Damage If the puncture is small, you can fix it with the repair kit. However, larger tears or damage to the sidewall will require professional assistance.

  3. Locate the Repair Kit Your tyre repair kit usually contains a sealant bottle and an air compressor. For Ford vehicles, it’s typically stored in the driver’s step. For all other vehicles it's typically stored in the exterior locker.

  4. Apply the Sealant Attach the sealant bottle to the tyre valve to fill the puncture.

  5. Inflate the Tyre Use the air compressor to inflate your tyre to the recommended pressure (this is usually listed on the inside of the door pillar—on the driver’s door for Ford vehicles and the passenger’s door for Fiat vehicles).

  6. Drive and Check Drive a short distance to ensure the sealant is working, and check the tyre pressure again. Please remember, this is only a temporary solution. Replace the tyre and sealant as soon as possible.

  7. Notify us Contact our On Road Support team as soon as possible to notify us of the situation.
    • Click here to access the reporting form.
    • Once there, select "Breakdown", complete the form with as much detail as you can.

Important Notes:

For tyre replacements, the locking nut can be found in the glovebox (Fiat vehicles) or under the driver’s seat (Ford vehicles). Please ensure you replace the locking nut once it has been used.
