What to do if you smell gas

Actions to take if you smell gas in your motorhome

  • If you smell gas in your vehicle, immediately exit the vehicle and do not re-enter the vehicle.
    • Turn off the gas at the bottle/ tank, if you can and contact On Road Assist immediately. 
    • Do not open windows or attempt to vent the vehicle
    • Do not operate any electrical or gas systems if you believe there may be a leak, or build up of gas in the vehicle
  • If there is a fire inside the vehicle, please contact the Fire Department on 999 and On Road Assist on +44 1525 878 000 at your earliest convenience. 
    • Do not attempt to turn off the gas or retrieve your items if there is a fire.
