How to Use Your Thetford T2000 Fridge
Follow these instructions to effortlessly manage your motorhome fridge.
If your fridge controls look like the image below, these instructions are for you!
Getting Started
- Turn the Fridge On or Off
- Press and hold the power button. The symbol will change from white to blue, indicating the fridge is activated.
Using the Fridge
-
Check Current Cooling Level
- Touch the control panel between the first and second white markers to display the current setting.
-
Adjust Cooling Level
- Press and hold in the same area (between the first and second white markers) until the indicator blinks.
- Use the bar symbols to select your preferred cooling level. (5 bars is the coldest, but for first-time chilling, 3 bars is recommended until the fridge is cold.)
Using the Freezer
-
Check Current Freezer Setting
- Touch the control panel between the second and third white markers to display the current setting.
-
Adjust Freezer Cooling Level
- Press and hold in this area until the settings blink. You’ll see 4 symbols:
- Leftmost symbol: Turns the freezer compartment off (it will illuminate white when selected).
- 1 symbol: Maintains a temperature of -6°C.
- 3 symbols: Maintains a temperature of -18°C (recommended for initial chilling).
- Once the freezer is cold, reduce the setting to 1 or 2 symbols to conserve your leisure battery.
- Press and hold in this area until the settings blink. You’ll see 4 symbols:
Activating Night Mode
- Enable Night Mode
- Press and hold the panel to the right of the third white marker until the quarter moon symbol illuminates.
- Press again until the symbol turns solid blue, indicating that night mode is activated.
Note: Night mode reduces noise but also decreases cooling power. If the fridge isn’t at the desired temperature, activating night mode will significantly slow the cooling process.
Important Notes
- Initial Cooling Time: It may take several hours (or overnight if filled with room-temperature goods) for the fridge to reach the desired temperature.
- Minimize Door Openings: To maintain cooling efficiency, limit how often you open the fridge.
- Monitor Battery Usage: If not using mains electric, keep an eye on your leisure battery levels.
- Ensure Flat Parking: Your motorhome must be parked on flat ground, as inclines can disrupt the fridge’s functionality.
- Check the Fuse: If the control panel isn’t lighting up despite sufficient motorhome power, inspect the fuse.
