What to Do If You Misfuel Your Motorhome

Accidentally used the wrong fuel? Don’t panic—just follow these steps to minimise potential damage:

  1. Don’t Start the Engine Avoid starting the engine, as this can circulate the wrong fuel and cause further damage.

  2. Move to a Safe Spot If possible, push your motorhome to a safer location, especially if you're blocking the fuel pump. You might need a helping hand for this.

  3. Notify Petrol Station Staff Inform the staff at the station—they have procedures in place to assist you. A specialist service will attend to drain and clean your fuel system safely.

  4. Don’t Attempt to Drive Even a small amount of incorrect fuel can cause serious damage to your engine and fuel system, so avoid driving the vehicle.

  5. Notify us Contact our On the Road Support team as soon as possible to notify us of the situation.
      • Click here to access the reporting form.
      • Once there, select "Breakdown", complete the form with as much detail as you can.

Important Notes:

  • Always refill with DIESEL.

  • If you need to top up ADBLUE, follow the dashboard instructions. The fill compartment, typically blue, is located near the diesel fill. Never add ADBLUE directly into the diesel compartment.
